The basics
What does concrete leveling actually do?
It raises a slab that sank or tipped back into line with the concrete around it, and fills the empty space underneath so it has support again. More: Concrete leveling
What material do you use to lift concrete?
A two-part polyurethane foam that’s injected under the slab, expands to fill voids and lift, then hardens into lightweight support. More: Polyurethane concrete lifting
Is foam lifting the only method you use?
Yes. We keep it simple: if your concrete can be lifted, foam is how we do it. If it can’t, we tell you it’s a replacement job. More: How foam lifting works
What kinds of concrete can be lifted?
Most flat slabs that rest on soil: driveways, garage aprons, sidewalks, walkways, patios, steps and many commercial walks and entrances. More: What we lift
Can mine be lifted?
How do I know if my concrete is a good candidate?
If it sank rather than being pushed up, it’s still in one piece or a few large pieces, and the surface is sound, it’s usually a good candidate. More: Can sunken concrete be lifted?
What if my slab has a crack running through it?
Large, solid pieces can usually be lifted together. The crack stays, but the height difference goes away. More: Can cracked concrete be lifted?
When is concrete past saving?
When it’s broken into many small pieces, crumbling, badly scaled, heaved or missing chunks. More: Is my concrete too damaged to lift?
Can you lower a slab that’s too high?
No. Lifting only raises concrete. Slabs pushed up by roots or swelling soil need a different fix. More: Uneven concrete
Lift or replace
How do I choose between leveling and replacement?
Level when the slab is sound and only settled. Replace when it has failed or you want a new layout. More: Leveling vs replacement
Is there ever a good reason to tear out concrete that could be lifted?
Yes, if you’re changing the layout, widening it or redoing the drainage anyway. More: When to replace concrete
Is leveling worth the money on an older slab?
If the slab is still sound, age alone doesn’t make it a poor candidate. Condition matters more. More: Is concrete leveling worth it?

What goes into the price of a lift?
Slab size, number of panels, how far it dropped, how much void is underneath, access, complexity and condition. More: Concrete leveling cost
Why is lifting usually less expensive than new concrete?

What do you look at during the evaluation?
How far the slab moved and which way, cracks, hollow spots, edge gaps and where water is coming from. It’s free. More: How it works
Can I get an idea from photos first?
Yes. A wide shot and a close-up with a tape measure across the edge usually tell us whether it looks like a lifting job. More: Send photos

What should I do to get ready for the work?
Clear the area, turn off sprinklers that hit it, keep pets inside, and tell us about anything buried nearby. More: How concrete leveling works
What happens under the slab during a lift?

What does the power washing include?
When the lift is done and the ports are patched, the work area is power washed. It’s free on every completed job. More: The wash down
After the job
What makes a lift hold up over time?
Mostly what happens to the water around the slab. Redirect downspouts and sprinklers, and seal joints. More: How long leveling lasts
What should I watch for after a lift?
A lip returning, soil washing out at an edge, or water pooling again. Look for the water source first. More: Signs of settlement
Causes
What makes concrete settle in the first place?
Loose fill, water carrying soil away, freeze and thaw, and loads on weak spots. More: Why does concrete sink?
Where does the empty space under a slab come from?
Usually water erosion. Settling fill, pumping at joints, animals and decay cause the rest. More: What causes voids
